To inspire discovery and imagination through hands on exploration while providing educational experiences through play
To be a vibrant community gathering space for all children and families to gather and engage in innovative, interactive play that accelerates creativity, development and education
The Children's Museum of Marathon County will be:
It is the vision of the museum to serve as a place for all children and families to gather and engage in innovative, interactive play that accelerates creativity, development and education.
Serving children ages 0-10 and their caregivers, CMMC is dedicated to offering an environment where families play and connect in meaningful ways which allow parents to be first teachers in their children's lives. Having this central place creates and promotes the idea that early educational experiences lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
Exhibits will provide a quality link to educational institutions within our community to serve as a resource for school outreach, field trips and enriched summer learning. These educationally rich exhibits will be available to all socio-economic segments.
Inspired by the need for a children's destination, where kids could be kids and parents could interact with their kids, a group of three dedicated community members joined together to form the founding committee of the Children's Museum of Marathon County (CMMC) in 2012. The founders are parents of young children with background in non-profit organizations, fundraising, finance, tourism, and children's museum. What began as wishful conversations turned into a true questioning of whether Marathon County needed a children's museum. They began to ask friends, teachers, community leaders and business owners if they felt there was a need and the answer was a resounding yes and the real planning began.
Make this dream a reality for the youth of our community, their parents and caregivers. People like you help us make leaps and bounds toward creating a first-class children's museum in Marathon County.
The Children's Museum of Marathon County is a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making your contribution tax deductible.
